Four local ladies calling themselves 'Mad Birds on Bikes'  have been planning for some time a 450 km cycle in Central America at the beginning of  November 2012 through Panama, Costa Rica and Nicaragua in support of a very worthy charitable cause. 

Nicky Price, Frances Ashmore and Susie Luxton who all live in Bradford-on-Tone and Joanna Steele-Perkins who lives in Hillfarrance are embarking on a cycling adventure in aid of the Genesis Research Trust. The intrepid foursome will be cycling in very remote areas and so will be camping and cycling over rough tracks…..it will be tough but what an experience it will be.

We will all be paying our own costs for this trip but would like to raise some extra money for the charity by organising a few fun events this year, the first of which is a Mad March Ball on 3rd March, so we do hope you can come to this, the band are good and there will be some delicious food and homemade puddings.

There are several ways we hope to raise more for the charity including raising money by collecting good quality second hand clothes and you can donate at any time on our justgiving website

So that we can take part we need to raise a minimum of £3,300 each.   Of this each woman will be contributing the £1,600 that it costs for flights, food etc on the trip.

ALL of the money we receive through donations will go to the charity.
